Dogue's looking for forever homes.

We are always looking for new foster homes, in all parts of the UK. If you can help then please contact us for more information. We have dogs waiting to come in and need foster homes of all types!

This lovely girl is Misty. She was found as a stray in Wales and was in an awful state. Very underweight and had obviously been bred from numerous times. We don't know how old she is but we believe her to be a more mature girl as she is starting to grey around her muzzle. She's currently being fostered by a wonderful family who are getting more weight on her and giving her lots of TLC. She is spayed, chipped and vaccinated.

This young man is Harry. He's only just turned ten months old and sadly has hip dysplasia. We've had him
X rayed and the vet is happy that with careful diet, exercise management and occasionally Metacam he can go on and lead a normal life. He is the most loving puppy you'll meet, very well socialised, gets on with other dogs no problems, gives great kisses, loves his toys, well trained and great on the lead. He is looking for his forever home, could this be you?

2 Dogue de Bordeaux's looking for a forever home.

This is the Blog Hop that features shelter animals. Find a cat, dog, rabbit, etc. at your local animal shelter or rescue and feature them on this Blog Hop! Come join the fun and help a furry friend find a forever home! And while you’re at it, don’t forget to visit the other blogs and share their doggies, cats, rabbits, and all the other animals that need forever homes on your social media sites. Please spread the word!

We have a very special boy ready to go to his new home now. 4 year old male, neutered, chipped, vaccinated and ready to go. We rehomed him 6 months ago and sadly they are unable to keep him through no fault of his own. He adores people and children, walks perfectly on lead but is not great in the car. Any existing dogs would have to meet him to see if they got on. Eddie is just a big gentle giant. He is near Glasgow currently.

This gorgeous young man is still waiting on his home! Prime is still a puppy at 14 months old, neutered, vaccinated and chipped and ready for his new home. Gets on fine with most dogs but can be a bit of a bully to the little ones. Good with children. He needs a home where his training will be continued.

Meet Marley.

Introducing new boy Marley....

Marley is roughly turning 2yrs old and he has lived with young children happily . He is a friendly boy who needs a firm leader and someone who will continue his socialising. He is in foster with other dogs and wants to play but doesn't understand the rules !! He would be best in a home with another dog that's playful but not bouncy and in his face . He has no idea how to play with toys either but shows interest in them . He enjoys being brushed and walking but he's a bit unsure of what's expected of him on a lead so needs work on that .

Pluto.

Today was supposed to be a happy post, but not so unfortunately.

Well this is a very hard post to write and one we never thought we would have to. Sadly we collected Pluto from his new home on Sunday morning. He was not getting on with the existing dog and there had been a couple of squabbles in the 36 or so hours he was there. When we rehome a dog to a home with other dogs we ask you to integrate them slowly over a matter of weeks and take things very carefully regarding toys, food, and even attention between pack members. Pluto had come from a foster home with 12 other dogs and lived within this pack with no issues due the rules and boundaries set by the human pack leader. He is doing great now and I had lovely kisses and cuddles from him, he really is such a happy eager to please boy. He will now be looking for what will be his EIGHTH HOME!! He is only 3! This next home must be his last!! Please only apply for him if you are willing to take things very slowly and are willing to work with any issues that may arrise. He is living with our chairwoman at Tartuffe and she will give us lots of updates of his progress. Any potential homes will also be required to come and meet Pluto with any dogs they have. He really would suit a very active home as he is a very bouncy high energy dog. Please please help us find him his perfect FOREVER home!

Latest update on Sheba, her hotspot has dried up and is starting to scab over her lampshade collar is starting to annoy her now but it's for her own good, she's back at the vets on Thursday for a check up so will be able to let you know more then.

Meet Roman. A Dogue de Bordeaux.

Roman

Roman is a huge hunk of love, who loves people and other dogs.
His previous family have had to rehome him as they can no longer look after him due to work commitments.
He is great around children, non reactive and can be left on his own without being disruptive.
He loves his walks, his food (he is a little underweight) and adores his sleep!

Roman is looking for a forever home with the help of SDDBS and K9 Partners

Roman is a HUGE boy and once he has gained some more weight he will be a stunner, not that he isn't already.

Meet Bailey.

Introducing Bailey. This gorgeous girl is three years old and a very happy Dogue. She's good with other dogs and lived with children. She's a bit strong on her lead so will need some extra training,  once she is fully assessed, neutered, chipped and vaccinated she will be looking for a home. We will bring you more updates soon.

Latest Updates.

Pluto.

When Pluto first came in.

Pluto now.

Look at this happy face!! I'm totally amazed everytime I see pictures of Pluto and his progress! His foster mum is working wonders with him and he clearly adores her, yesterday Pluto went off to the vets for his little op to get him neutered. Sadly for Pluto he is going to lose his tail, he's just far too happy and waggy and keeps opening the wound so the only way to stop that is for the tail to come off. He is doing just amazing though and was weighed at the vets yesterday morning and now weighs 35kg!!! That's a whole 15kg he has gained since coming to us.

Max.

I'm made up for Max as he's going to live with my friend who already owns a Dogue de Bordeaux and sadly lost one of his other Dogues a few weeks back but made a promise to Amber that they would always have a rescue Dogue in the house so her legacy lives on, so I know he's going to be well cared for and loved.

Aggie.

Fabulous news for Aggie, she has found an amazing new home on a small holding with loads of room for her to run around, other animals for company and children to give her belly rubs.  She is going at the weekend and will be sorely missed by everyone that's been looking after her so well. We will be getting lots of updates from her new home though.

Lexi.

Poor old Lexi is going to be staying with her fabulous foster home indefinitely. Sadly we have discovered a large mass in her mammary glands and at her age we won't put her through any invasive treatment. She is happy where she is though so we will keep her here, pain free and comfortable for as long as possible. We will keep you updated with all of her progress.

Pluto update.

We've got no new Dogues to feature this week so I've decided to give you all an update on what's going on.

Update on Pluto who was featured on 22/4/2014.

Wait till you see the transformation in Pluto!! All I can say is WOW!! Amazing what some food, love and TLC can do in a couple of weeks!

Well we knew going by the pictures that Pluto had gained weight but we didn't expect him to have gained a quarter of his body weight!! He has gained 5kg in two weeks!! Brilliant!!

Our newest Dogue de Bordeaux just come in.

Introducing Murphy. As you can see he is a gorgeous big boy, he is three years old and neutered. He is used to living with female dogs but not small animals. He has issues with one of his eyes which looks ulcerated possibly due to entropian which may need operated on. He also has another issue where he carries his head tilted on one side, possibly an inner ear problem so we will get that investigated too. This boy is going to need lots of extra tlc and rehab so won't be looking for a home for quite some time.

Meet Lexi a Dogue de Bordeaux.

Meet the new girl on the SDDBS block. This is Lexi and she is a hugely overweight girl, we've not weighed her yet but she is very large so it will be a challenge to get her fit and happy. Despite this she is a very happy loving girl that is good with other dogs, cats and kids. She's been used for breeding and sadly no longer wanted. She's got an ear infection at the moment and her skin is not great but we think it's all related to just being very overweight and unhealthy. We will soon have her looking better though.

Meet Max our newest boy here at SDDBS. He's a two year old boy that we rescued from the pound. He wasn't claimed so would have been pts So far he's proving to be a lovely lad and gets on great with other dogs, male and female. He loves people, gives great cuddles and is going to make someone a great pet. He knows basic commands. Once he's been fully assessed, neutered, vaccinated and chipped he will be ready to go to his new home.

Introducing Pluto. This beautiful young man is our latest we have rescued from the pound. How he is still alive is purely down to the spirit he obviously has. He is in an emaciated state, his tail is split and will probably need amputation once he is well enough. Despite this he still wags his tail and gives kisses to people. We don't know how he managed to be in such a state as was a stray. We will be doing some major fundraising as he is going to need a lot of TLC and vet care. If you want to donate please follow the PayPal link on our website. We also would love donations for our auction page to raise funds. We will keep you updated with Pluto's progress.

Meet Hooch.

Hooch

My name is Hooch and I am 4 years old I have been with my mum and dad since a puppy but unfortunately
their circumstances have changed dramatically. They love me so much but want what will be best for me it is breaking all of our hearts. I am a shy boy and often things scare me but when I get to know you I am a loving boy. I have never shown any aggression to anyone or anybody I am good with children and other dogs but can bounce about like Tigger when I see a dog outside as I want to play but mums tells me to behave so I walk on as I am so good on the lead and do not pull. I also like to have a run around off lead but do not go far from my mum and dad and return as soon as I am called but I usually am only about 50 yards from them as I like to be close.
Hooch is looking for his forever home with SDDBS

I like to have my toast in the morning and will follow into the kitchen to receive my toast I like to have butter on my toast not so keen on margarine. I also like pigs ears but when I was first given one I was a little scared of it but soon realised it was something yummy to eat. I am very shy when someone come into my home I will bark but I will run away mum always asks people to sit down and let me come to them I will let them pet me but in my own time once I let people pet me I really enjoy it. I do not do well in kennels and I am really scared so mum and dad find someone to look after me in my own home.
Hooch is looking for his forever home with SDDBS

In the summer time I get really hot and cannot go for a walk during the day I do not like the hose so cooling me down is pretty hard saying that if I was held on lead and hosed down I would not show aggression would try to get away then afterwards will show my I am not amused face. I need a home where I can get out and be loved I do like travelling in the car I really am a good boy I am wary of cuddles until I get to know you and sometimes I will give a yelp if I get a fright even although nobody has been near me. There is a lot more about me but if you need anymore info my mum and dad will be on hand even after I go to my new loving forever home.
