Annoying pop-ups.

Sue Kottwitz from Talking dogs has just brought it to my attention that every time she visits my blog she gets plagued by annoying pop-ups advertising software to download Sue is using Firefox.

I've never come across them myself apart from the one in the bottom right hand corner by Add This for facebook share the ones Sue sees are full screen.

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems I want to attract visitors not scare them away.

Thanks Ian and Sheba.

  1. We have our pop up blocker on so we do not have any problems. All is A OK this end. Have a terrific Tuesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  2. Hi Sheba and Ian,

We get those popups when we visit you, too (when our popup blocker does not catch them; right now, I see a notice that "Firefox prevented this site from opening 2 pop-up windows"). We, too, use Firefox.

    Hope you're well! :)

    1. Thank you for the feedback I will have to try and find out what's wrong, I've just found out my anti virus blocks pop-ups probably why I never see them.

We are all great thanks, hope you're well.

      Sheba.

  3. I'm on a Mac and don't get pop-ups on your blog! Browser is Safari. Your page does take a while to load though, but our broadband is incredibly slow :(

    1. I've noticed it's a bit slow I will try removing some widgets and see if that helps.

      Thank you for the feedback.

  4. I haven't experienced it on your blog (I use Google Chrome), but I did have Brian tell me he had it happen to him on Cat Chat. I found out the culprit was an ad from the BlogPaws Pet blogger network and thankfully that particular campaign has ended. It even popped up for ME on MY blog and I HATED IT.

  5. Hey Ian, I experience this also. I use Google Chrome and think I have my pop-up blocker turned off so I see them. I wonder what the culprit is?

  6. Hey Ian. I am using Chrome... I haven't experienced this coming from your blog. I think a pop-up blocker could remedy this.

I don't have a pop-up blocker but my Chrome is saying "Pop-ups were blocked from this page."

It might be that one of the plug ins you've added to your blog is responsible for it.
