Not so Wordless Wednesday, In memory of Dr. Lorie Huston.

Lorie Huston, DVM: Founder and Owner of Pet Health Care Gazette

It's with a heavy heart that today I make this sad announcement on the passing of Dr. Lorie Huston, Lorie was a very respected member of the BlogPaws community. The animal kingdom has also lost a very good friend and true ambassador.

I never had the pleasure of meeting her with living across the pond, but had communicated with her through BlogPaws, Facebook and Email nothing was ever to much trouble for her and she was always available with advice on certain topics of my blog but also also allowed me to share some of her very well written and informative articles.

Lorie has probably forgot more about animal welfare than most of us will ever know.

Dr. Lorie Huston receiving the Winn Feline Foundation Media Appreciation Award.

Dr. Huston was the first veterinarian to receive the honour.

As well as being employed full time as a veterinarian in Rhode Island, she was also a certified veterinary journalist, President of the Cat Writers Association, Founder of the Pet Health Care Gazette, Founder of Social Media Savvy pets , Author of Labrador Retrievers: How to Be Your Dog's best Friend. and probably many more that I don't know about.

Dr Lorie Huston DVM left behind six rescue cats that need rehoming, here's a copy of the email I received off BlogPaws if anyone can help and please share.

Friends,
We have such an amazing community, and people are asking about how to help with Dr. Lorie Huston's 6 cats who are in need of new homes. Thank you for that.
Please share this email: dustycatwriter@pobox.com for anyone interested in contacting Dusty Rainbolt about re-homing Lorie's cats.
So many of us feel helpless right now, and one thing we know we can do as a Community, is help with Lorie's cats. We can and we will.
Give your fur-kids a special hug tonight.
