Back to reality.

It's been one week today since i got back off my holidays.

I can't get used to being back off holiday even though i still get daily walks most of it is on lead instead of off lead running through forests or swimming in lakes, It's like walking around a concrete jungle.

The withdrawal symptoms have got that bad now that I've resorted to digging holes in the garden hoping they will fill up with water to resemble lakes and using the excavated soil to form mounds that look like mountains.

I've ended up going from this.

Brantwood House overlooking Coniston Water.
Mountains.
Tarn Hows.

To this.

Where's the mountains and Lakes gone to.

There's no comparison.

I think i will have to have a word with the vet and see if they can prescribe a week or two in the Lakes by prescription on health grounds if i say I'm feeling a little depressed or my hip dysplasia is playing me up and i need some water to have a good swim in like this.

Sheba running through the water.

Well they do say hydrotherapy is good for the muscles or i could just get a job up there as a mountain search and rescue dog working for ( SARDA ) which of course means i would have to take my staff up with me firstly my Dad as my handler and Mum to make sure we're both well fed and to do the worrying when we're out on a job ( for those of you that haven't read the post properly that's not a bank job. )

I have over heard the staff talking and seen them looking on that thing they call the tinternet, google or whatever it's called, they did ask me what i wanted and i said i don't mind as long as there's water, i just hope i don't live to regret that statement  and i spoke to soon sometimes i don't think before speaking i they might take it the wrong way and put me in the bath, turn the hose pipe on me or buy me a paddling pool.

  1. Yes, I think a prescription to go back is necessary! I'd write it for you if I could.

    Happy Wordless Wednesday on Saturday!

  3. WOW! You're lucky! My mommy took me on a trip and all I saw were rest areas, the back seat of the car and hotel rooms! Hope you get your wish and get to go back to the hills!

    1. I hope the dream comes true as well i've got all my paws crossed. My hips aren't to bad but i don't suppose the cold and damp of Autumn and winter are going to help.

  7. I totally understand your depression upon returning home! It takes several days to get out of the funk but you have to remember you can go back again on another holiday some day soon--gives you something to look forward to!

  8. Your vacation pics were amazing, it's easy to see how it's hard to be back!

  9. hey Sheba,

That is quite a shock, going from this to that! I feel your pain. Although your neighborhood is lovely, and home is where the heart is, what pup wouldn't rather be spending their days in the mountains and lakes? Well, no lakes for me but snowy mountains...*sigh...

I think your idea of being a SARDA is perfect! Being paid to be in your element. Who could woof for a better job? ;->

I sadly missed your vacation posts but your photos were gorgeous! Such incredibly beautiful landscapes. I can see how you would long to go back. I've never been and I want to go!

  13. Sheba, there is nothing like vacation. The places to explore and eat...Cocco feels your pain. He wishes he could be on vacation again where the tree drops crabapples left and right. We hope your vet approves your request!
