Happy Memorial Day.

To all our American friends Happy Memorial Day.

Memorial day marks a very important day in the United States and is observed to honor the soldiers who laid down their lives while in service of the US military. Originally known as 'Decoration Day', the day is observed every year on the last Monday of May and unofficially marks the beginning of summer. Memorial day is a federal holiday that was first enacted to honor the lives of the soldiers of the Civil War but was later extended to include all the soldiers who died while in service of the US army.

“We do not know one promise these men made, one pledge they gave, one word they spoke; but we do know they summed up and perfected, by one supreme act, the highest virtues of men and citizens. For love of country they accepted death, and thus resolved all doubts, and made immortal their patriotism and their virtue.”
- James A. Garfield

Everyone who are having barbecues or going to barbecues this weekend be careful of what foods are left lying around, as not all foods are safe to our furry friends. Stay cool and keep safe.

Meet Bailey.

Introducing Bailey. This gorgeous girl is three years old and a very happy Dogue. She's good with other dogs and lived with children. She's a bit strong on her lead so will need some extra training,  once she is fully assessed, neutered, chipped and vaccinated she will be looking for a home. We will bring you more updates soon.

Latest Updates.

Pluto.

When Pluto first came in.

Pluto now.

Look at this happy face!! I'm totally amazed everytime I see pictures of Pluto and his progress! His foster mum is working wonders with him and he clearly adores her, yesterday Pluto went off to the vets for his little op to get him neutered. Sadly for Pluto he is going to lose his tail, he's just far too happy and waggy and keeps opening the wound so the only way to stop that is for the tail to come off. He is doing just amazing though and was weighed at the vets yesterday morning and now weighs 35kg!!! That's a whole 15kg he has gained since coming to us.

Max.

I'm made up for Max as he's going to live with my friend who already owns a Dogue de Bordeaux and sadly lost one of his other Dogues a few weeks back but made a promise to Amber that they would always have a rescue Dogue in the house so her legacy lives on, so I know he's going to be well cared for and loved.

Aggie.

Fabulous news for Aggie, she has found an amazing new home on a small holding with loads of room for her to run around, other animals for company and children to give her belly rubs.  She is going at the weekend and will be sorely missed by everyone that's been looking after her so well. We will be getting lots of updates from her new home though.

Lexi.

Poor old Lexi is going to be staying with her fabulous foster home indefinitely. Sadly we have discovered a large mass in her mammary glands and at her age we won't put her through any invasive treatment. She is happy where she is though so we will keep her here, pain free and comfortable for as long as possible. We will keep you updated with all of her progress.
