To all my American friends in the path of (Hurricane Sandy) stay safe.
To all my American followers, families and pets i hope and pray you are all safe & well in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
Hurricane Sandy: Tips For Pet Owners
Among the chaos of boarding up windows and stocking up on food and supplies, pet owners are being encouraged to make sure their furry friends are prepared to weather Hurricane Sandy.
“We want to encourage everybody if they are evacuating to take your pets with you,” said Tim Rickey, senior director of field investigations and response with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
“If your home is not safe for you, it is not safe for your pet,” he said.
Top 7 Tips to Prepare for Hurricane Sandy
New York City shelters are pet friendly, something Rickey said many people did not realize during Hurricane Irene. He encouraged people in the path of Sandy but outside of New York City to check with their local shelters to see if pets are allowed.
“It’s really sporadic. A lot of areas are [pet friendly] but some still aren’t,” he said. ”We’re actively working on that front, trying to get supplies into the northeast.”
Tropical Storm Sandy: Live Storm Tracker
The ASPCA has issued the following tips for pet owners:
- Always bring pets indoors at the first sign or warning of a storm or disaster.
- Make sure all pets wear collars and ID tags with up-to-date identification. Micro-chip your pet as a more permanent form of identification.
- Keep a pet emergency kit and supplies handy with items such as medical records, water, pet food and medications, and pet first aid supplies. Take this with you if you evacuate.
- Arrange a safe haven for your pets in the event of evacuation. Do not leave your pets behind.
To everyone in the USA stay safe and keep warm. May God be with you from everyone in the United Kingdom.

In memory of Oscar.
We can't believe it's been 12 months since you departed this world to go over the Rainbow Bridge to play with your sister Millie and the rest of the menagerie who went before you.
We were sorry to let you go but we couldn't let you suffer it wouldn't of been fair on any of us. It would of been cruel to keep pumping you full of medication without you having that quality of life.
We have got a new cat now Cody Catty but don't worry he's not a replacement, we could never replace you you were one in a million. You probably know about Cody anyhow you've probably seen him when you've been back to visit us, i certainly think you've had a word or two with him, he's developed a few of your traits ie tripping me up on the stairs, ambushing me on the stairs if I'm carrying Chicken or Salmon upstairs for his supper he tries to grab the bowl off me and empty it before i get upstairs, he likes his cuddles on the stairs and his night time treats. Oh and one more thing he's a Mummy's boy.
You might of left this world but you will never be forgotton, run free now free from pain and suffering.
R.I.P.
Lots of love Mum, Dad, Sheba and Cody.

Super Sweet Blogging Award.
I must of been a good girl I've just received another blogging award from my good friend over at onebluedog I've never received this award before so to say I'm chuffed to bits is the understatement of the year.
I've been told i can't have any cup cakes until I've answered these five questions and passed the award onto thirteen other bloggers. I better get on with it because I'm getting hungry now.
1. Cookies or Cake? Tough one but Cookies just edges it.
2. Chocolate or Vanilla? The miserable humans won't let me have chocolate, they say it will make me poorly. Dad likes Dark Chocolate and Mum likes White Chocolate.
3. Favourite sweet treat? Custard cream biscuits. I get one of these as a special treat occasionally when I've been extra good.
4. When do you crave sweet things the most? Whenever Mum and Dad aren't looking and i can sneak a biscuit or slice of cake when they're not looking.
5. If you had a sweet nickname, what would it be? I've been called a few names not all of them very sweet. Probably Pumpkin or Custard Cream because of my love of them.
That's the easy part out of the way now for the hard part.
- This ones easy and the first blog that comes to mind. jesse j over at BernerTails crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, so i would like to honour this in her memory R.I.P. jesse

Women breastfeeds dog.
Just incase you thought the world can't get any worse after
my previous posts of the pregnant cat dumped in hot tar and the man jailed for killing his Jack Russell Terrier we now have the women who
breastfeeds her dog. For once in my life I'm speachless i don't know what to say except it's sick.
Terri Graham, Mother, Breastfeeds Dog To 'Feel Complete' (WARNING: GRAPHIC PHOTO)
Terri Graham, a mother of two, couldn't breastfeed her children. But, she's now fulfilling her maternal desire in an unorthodox way -- by breastfeeding her 9-year-old daughter's dog, a pug named Spider.
In an interview published in the Oct. 20 U.K. edition of Closer magazine, Graham, 44, said that she knows some people might consider her a "freak," but insisted that her breastfeeding nourishes the dog, and makes her feel like a better mom.
"Having Spider suckle on my boob means I finally feel complete and a better mother," Graham told Closer.
Graham, who is from California, claimed that the dog developed a taste for breast milk in 2010 after licking the nipple of a bottle she had pumped for her then-newborn son. She says she has breastfed the dog for about 2 years.
A photo of the article about Graham was posted to a Reddit forum devoted to strange and outrageous news, where it quickly received more than 2,000 "upvotes" and rose to the site's front page.
Although the comments were riddled with jokes, one user pointed out that a British woman had reportedly breastfed her dog in 2010.
A psychologist interviewed for the magazine piece suggested that Graham seek therapy, but stranger incidents involving canines have occurred in the British Isles.
In July 2011, a man was charged in Ireland for violating that country's bestiality laws after a woman died from an allergic reaction following sex with his German shepherd.

Pregnant cat dumped in hot tar.
The world's gone mad. It's about time we started giving out tougher sentences to act as a deterent.
The black and white feline, named Lilly, was just two weeks away from giving birth when she was thrown in the tar which burned her skin and solidified on her fur, severely restricting her movements.
It took groomers three hours to remove the tar with a special heavy duty cleaner after she was spotted by a concerned member of the public hobbling along a street in Nazeing, Essex.
The tar had burnt large sections of her skin and caused clumps of fur to drop off her body. It had also collected on her legs making her paws appear they were double their normal size.
Her entire belly and legs were caked in tar which had also collected dozens of leaves, twigs and debris.
The cat was taken to animal groomers Mister Groom in Harlow, were staff used Swarfega cleaner to remove the tar.
Amazingly Lilly has made a full recovery, been returned to her owners, who did not wish to be named.
It is hoped she will still have a healthy litter of kittens.
Linda Forsyth, who runs Mister Groom, said it was the ‘worst thing she had ever seen done to an animal’.
She said: ‘Whoever did this to the poor thing deserves to have it done to them. I can’t understand how anyone could be so cruel.
‘I could not believe the state of the poor thing when it was brought into us.
‘The tar had solidified on its body and it could barely move, it was just meowing in pain and distress.
‘We have been in business for 30 years and I have never seen anything like it.’
Expert Groomer Catherine Tranter was one of the workers who spent hours arduously cleaning the poor creature.
She said: ‘It was just so bad. I have never seen anything like it.
‘I suppose she looked a bit like walking fossil.
‘Her paws appeared as though they had doubled in size because they were covered in so much tar.
‘Lilly must have dunked in hot tar as it hard burnt large parts of her skin. She was in so much pain but was as good as gold when we cleaned her up.
‘She could have scratched but she just sat there - she must have been so relieved to get all that muck off.
‘Luckily she is back with her owner and will hopefully have a nice a health litter of kittens.’
In 2011 there was a 23.5 per cent rise in the number of people convicted for animal cruelty and neglect according to RSPCA figures.
There was also a 27 per cent rise in prison sentences imposed for animal cruelty by the courts.
The UK’s pet population was estimated to be eight million cats and eight million dogs in 2011.

Man jailed for killing Jack Russell Terrier.
What is this world coming too. If they can inflict pain and suffering on an animal what's to say they can't do the same to a child.
A man who beat his Jack Russell dog to death in a brutal attack has been jailed and banned from keeping pets for life.
Christopher Keogh, 31, kicked, punched and slammed one-year-old Bambi against a brick wall before dumping the bloodied body in a bin.
Animal rights protesters Colchester Animal Defenders demonstrated outside Colchester Magistrates’ Court protested yesterday, jeering Keogh as he entered.
During the attack, neighbours called the police after hearing screams, which they reported was an animal or a child in distress.
The father-of-two lost his temper with Bambi after it bit his three-month-old son on the hand, the court heard.
In the rage that followed, he choked the dog by carrying it outside by its collar and throwing the dog above his head across the courtyard outside his home in Colchester.
Keogh was jailed for 150 days and banned from keeping animals for life.
The attack on September 26 this year lasted several minutes and was caught on CCTV which police have deemed too upsetting to release.
Officers found Bambi’s body wrapped in a towel in a bin outside his flat complex. It was taken to a vet, who confirmed it was dead. Keogh was arrested shortly after.
District Judge Andrew Woollard said: ‘I can’t envisage a crime more serious than what you committed.
‘It appears in your fury you took the dog and executed it.
‘I suspect everyone else who hears the facts would find them disgusting. Custody it has to be.’
Judge Woollard refused his solicitor’s requests for Keogh to undergo a psychological report before sentence was passed.
Emma Bailey, mitigating, said: ‘He is genuinely remorseful and upset. The dog had bitten his very young baby.
‘When he saw the dog was injured, he took it inside and at this point becomes hysterical when he sees it is not moving.
‘He never wanted this to happen. The dog had been well loved up until this point.’
The court heard how Keogh had recently overcome a drug habit and was now taking replacement medicines twice a week to stave off addiction.
He is well known to the court with a history of other offences, although not for animal cruelty.
Members of the Colchester Animal Defenders protested outside court because they want longer sentences for people convicted of animal cruelty offences.
About 15 protesters jeered Keogh as he entered the court, held placards that read ‘Justice for Bambi’ and banged on the court house windows as he entered.
Speaking after the decision, Liza Moore, head of Colchester Animal Defenders, said: ‘This is nowhere near a long enough sentence.
‘Barbaric animal killings such as this should be punished in the toughest possible way.
‘You shouldn’t get less for fraud and crimes that are less violent.’
Ms Moore is calling for residents to lobby their MPs to demand tougher sentences for people who abuse animals.
She said: ‘There is no excuse for animal abuse.
‘There is a direct correlation between people who abuse animals and those who go on to hurt human beings.’
The campaign has been supported by Big Brother contestant and model, Victoria Eisermann, who was due to attend the protest but was unable to make it on the day.
Keogh was prosecuted by Essex Police, but an RSPCA spokesman said he was glad the courts saw it as serious enough to hand Keogh a jail sentence and lifetime ban on keeping pets.
The spokesman said: ‘This was a particularly nasty case.
‘Hopefully the fact he has received a lifetime ban on keeping animals will be more effective than his short spell in prison.
‘It is about the care and welfare of animals and if he doesn’t have access to them then there can be no more suffering at his hands.’

Another blog award.
I was very lucky yesterday Monday 15/10/2012 i was honoured with the One Sweet Blog award from onebluedog and on the day of Mum's Birthday too a double celebration Yipeeeee. Poor Dad and Cody didn't get anything but they've got our unconditional love which means a lot now that's something money can't buy.
There are only two conditions of this award that I'm aware of link back to the person who gave you the award onebluedog and now the bit i don't like pass it on to five other blogs, the reason i don't like passing awards on is because there's to many good blogs out there and i always feel as if I'm letting people down.

Happy Birthday Mum.
It's my human Mum's birthday today it will be her third Birthday this year now that is some going not even the Queen gets that many. I will explain how she ended up with three Birthdays on Saturday Dad cooked a birthday meal and pampered Mum, on Sunday Grandma invited us all along so Mum got another meal cooked for her and more presents and today Monday is her official Birthday i can see Mum getting used to all this fuss.
I've been sworn to secrecy not to give her age away so i will give you all a little clue if she was a dog she would be 6 years old.
It was a nice gesture of Dad's to cook for Mum but i need to educate him why cook spicy food Knowing Cody and I cant have any. I really need to get my thinking cat on and find a way to bury them spices in the garden.
Saturday fared a lot better at Grandma's the humans had Roast Chicken so of course some came my way at last common sense prevails them humans can use there brain if they want to . If you're reading this Dad take note Spices is a no no Meat and fish is fine as long as you keep them spices away from it.
Come on one of you must have some Chicken in your hand i know you can't resist these eyes for long.
I like the bird bath it makes a great drinking bowl for dogs.
Why are you sniffing the flowers that's a dogs job.
Mum reading her Birthday card.
Mum opening her present.
Of course Grandma had to get catty paper.
Mum having a fashion show, showing off her presents.
Happy Birthday Mum, do you want a kiss.
Why is there four chairs and only three places set, i think they've forgot someone.
Have you got something in your hand for me.
Mum looks half asleep has she had to much wine to drink.
I don't think you were supposed to take that photo Dad.
I had a great time on Saturday and got a Doggy bag and a Catty bag for Cody. I think the Chicken was meant for the humans but where Chicken is concerned you need to be quick very quick.
Happy Birthday Mum.
I'm not saying who's idea this card was.
Love Sheba and Cody.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Day in Canada has been a holiday on the second Monday of October since 1957. It is a chance for people to give thanks for a good harvest and other fortunes in the past year.
Many people have a day off work on the second Monday of October. They often use the three-day Thanksgiving weekend to visit family or friends who live far away, or to receive them in their own homes. Many people also prepare a special meal to eat at some point during the long weekend. Traditionally, this included roast turkey and seasonal produce, such as pumpkin, corn ears and pecan nuts. Now, the meal may consist of other foods, particularly if the family is of non-European descent.
The Thanksgiving weekend is also a popular time to take a short autumn vacation. This may be the last chance in a while for some people to use cottages or holiday homes before winter sets in. Other popular activities include: outdoor breaks to admire the spectacular colors of the Canadian autumn; hiking; and fishing. Fans of the teams in the Canadian Football League may spend part of the weekend watching the Thanksgiving Day Classic matches.
The native peoples of the Americas held ceremonies and festivals to celebrate the completion and bounty of the harvest long before European explorers and settlers arrived in what is now Canada. Early European thanksgivings were held to give thanks for some special fortune. An early example is the ceremony the explorer Martin Frobisher held in 1578 after he had survived the long journey in his quest to find a northern passage from Europe to Asia.
Many thanksgivings were held following noteworthy events during the 18th century. Refugees fleeing the civil war in the United States brought the custom of an annual thanksgiving festival to Canada. From 1879, Thanksgiving Day was held every year but the date varied and there was a special theme each year. The theme was the "Blessings of an abundant harvest" for many years. However, Queen Victoria's golden and diamond jubilees and King Edward VII's coronation formed the theme in later years.
From the end of the First World War until 1930, both Armistice Day and Thanksgiving Day were celebrated on the Monday closest to November 11, the anniversary of the official end of hostilities in World War I. In 1931, Armistice Day was renamed Remembrance Day and Thanksgiving Day was moved to a Monday in October. Since 1957, Thanksgiving Day has always been held on the second Monday in October.
Thanksgiving Day in Canada is linked to the European tradition of harvest festivals. A common image seen at this time of year is a cornucopia, or horn, filled with seasonal fruit and vegetables. This represents the "Horn of Plenty", which was a symbol of bounty and plenty in ancient Greece. Turkeys, pumpkins, ears of corn and large displays of food are also used to symbolize Thanksgiving Day.

5 year old April Jones still missing from Machynlleth Mid Wales.
5 year old April Jones has been missing from her home in Machynlleth Mid Wales sinse 7.00pm - 7.30pm Monday evening. Hopefully with the power of Social Media we can reunite her with her parents. I will keep the blog updated with any developments.
Missing April Jones: Mother's Emotional AppealWith five-year-old April Jones missing for more than 36 hours, her mother makes a tearful plea for information.2:53pm UK, Wednesday 03 October 2012 Video: April's Mother Makes Tearful Appeal EmailThe mother of missing April Jones has made an emotional appeal for help in finding her daughter. Coral Jones, who was accompanied by her stepfather, April's step-grandfather, Dai Smith, sobbed as she said: "It's been 36 hours since April was taken from us. "There must be someone out there who knows where she is and can help the police find her. We are desperate for any news. "April is only five years old. Please, please, help find her." April Jones, Mark Bridger and his Land Rover Discovery After her plea, she broke down in tears, holding her head in her hands, and was comforted by Mr Smith as Detective Superintendent Reg Bevan made a further appeal for information. Police are now searching a vacant farmhouse two miles from Dyfi River. Detectives had earlier asked for information from anyone who saw 46-year-old Mark Bridger between Monday evening and when he was arrested in connection with the abduction on Tuesday afternoon. The search continues to centre on the Machynlleth area They also took the unusual step of issuing images of the suspect and his metallic blue Land Rover Discovery during the earlier, unscheduled news conference. Det Supt Bevan, of Dyfed Powys Police, said: "We are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry and Mark Bridger is one of them. "Do not assume somebody else has already contacted us with information. Even if you feel yours is trivial, it may be the vital piece that we are missing." He said more than 50 volunteers were helping mountain rescue teams in the search for April and that police had details of many more who were able to help. Efforts to find April continued throughout the night "We are extremely grateful for their help in this search and their support has been vital," Det Supt Bevan added. April was last seen playing on her bicycle with friends near her home in the Bryn Y Gog estate in Machynlleth, mid Wales, at around 7pm on Monday. Det Supt Bevan also used the previous appeal for witnesses who may have seen Bridger over the last two days - or his 4x4 vehicle, registration number L503 MEP. "We are in the process of piecing together his movements and that of the vehicle from around 5pm on Monday evening through to 3.30pm Tuesday afternoon when Mark Bridger was arrested," he said. Anyone with information relating to the case is asked to call Child Rescue Alert Line on 0300 2000 333.
